When I launch Disk Utility first aid from Disk Utility then it gives me a message &#8211; <em>First Aid found corruption that needs to be repaired. To repair the startup volume, run First Aid from Recovery<\/em>. So, I restarted my Mac and went to Recovery Mode by press-holding Command + R. There, I launch Disk Utility Repair on my startup SSD, but still, Disk Utility greets me with the same message. Here is that message from recovery mode &#8211; <em>First Aid found corruption that needs to be repaired. To repair the startup volume, run First Aid from Recovery<\/em>. <em>Click Done to continue<\/em>. Nothing happens further as I boot into the desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launch Terminal from Utilities within the Recovery Mode and type the below commands one by one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Verify your SSD\/HDD by<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>diskutil verifyDisk \/dev\/disk0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Now Repair your SSD\/HDD by<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>diskutil repairDisk \/dev\/disk0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The commands will verify and repair your SSD or HDD errors through Terminal. After executing these commands go to Disk Utility (within recovery mode) and run the repair on your SSD. This time you shouldn\u2019t receive the issue of the error message: <em>First Aid found corruption that needs to be repaired. To repair the startup volume, run First Aid from Recovery.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t type commands vaguely in Terminal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do backup your SSD and its data before executing disk related operations under Terminal. A single terminal command if executed incorrectly can ruin your SSD or invite unexpected data losses. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macintosh-data-recovery.com\/detail-features.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Data recovery on SSD<\/a> is possible though one should be careful and avoid data loss events as much as possible. That\u2019s why, back up your Mac before going to verify, repair or format your Mac SSD \/ Hard Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For Other Disk Errors on Mac<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disk Utility is a great tool to fix wear &amp; tears of directory structure however the program has several limitations. Those Disk Utility limitations are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Rebuilding directory structure<\/li><li>Repairing severely damaged permissions<\/li><li>Unable to boot when severely corrupt<\/li><li>No additional bootable unit<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When Disk Utility &amp; Recovery Mode Fails!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to a severe corruption of Mac hard drive (SSD or volumes), the Disk Utility (no matter Recovery Mode or Desktop Disk Utility) will ask you to backup the data and format the storage unit. Else, you will need to reinstall the macOS afresh. Taking the backup of an already corrupt storage unit is challenging task, and any clone\/image software can fail while copying files. No backup tools guarantee the cloning of a corrupt hard drive accurately. Thankfully, there exists an optimum solution for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macintosh-data-recovery.com\/detail-features.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">SSD and hard drive recovery for Macs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dealing with disk errors is like playing with fire.
