Sellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery Software recovers deleted desktop data for QuickBooks Pro for Mac 2006 or 2007 users
QuickBooks for Mac users on various forums have reported that a QuickBooks auto-update which starts to run automatically has resulted in the complete deletion of folders and directories from their desktops. There was an explanation given in one of the posts about what the bug was actually doing to Mac. It said that the auto-updater was changing the finder information of desktop from a folder to a text edit document and this in turn caused erasure of the contents from the folder. It was further noted that the updater locked the desktop too; as a result users are not able to do any operations on it.
Even as Intuit is in the process of finding a solution, users who have already lost sizeable data due to this update disaster are now relying on data recovery software to recover them. But before starting recovery, heed caution that you don’t save anything, reboot or perform any other activity on your Mac as this may permanently overwrite the deleted data.
